Starwood Grants LodgeNet Preferred iTV Vendor Status

8/11/2011
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has signed a new multi-year agreement with LodgeNet Interactive Corporation, provider of media and connectivity solutions. The agreement grants LodgeNet a preferred provider status for its offerings to Starwood hotels for Envision, LodgeNet's latest interactive TV (iTV) platform, free-to-guest television programming, professional customization and technical services. In addition, Starwood is working on approving various new Envision applications as options across a number of its brands as apps are developed and evolve. The two companies are also looking for further expansion opportunities in the professional solutions and broadband areas.

"LodgeNet has been a valued partner in providing perspective and advice to help guide our overall long-term guest technology strategy," says David Marr, senior vice president, Brand Management for Starwood Hotels & Resorts North America. "We are committed to establishing our brands as technology leaders in their respective segments, and we look forward to working with LodgeNet in that effort."

LodgeNet was first named a Starwood preferred provider in 2002 and this new Master Agreement is the latest milestone in an association dating back to LodgeNet's first contract with Sheraton Hotels in 1991. LodgeNet currently serves 460 Starwood properties, representing more than 150,000 guest rooms or nearly 90% of Starwood's total North American room base.
