Springer-Miller Systems Announces Enhanced Integration With OpenKey
Springer-Miller Systems (SMS), a provider of guest-centric hospitality and spa management systems, has completed a next-level integration with OpenKey, a mobile key software provider. The enriched feature will automate the delivery of mobile keys to guests’ smartphones, reducing front-desk check-in times.
Many hotels around the world have already embraced mobile keyless technology. In fact, 48 percent of hotels are investing or plan to invest in mobile check-in/out. With the innovation of automated mobile key delivery available from OpenKey, hotel properties can better meet the demand of today’s travelers for a speedy and effortless check-in experience. The key issue experience for the front-desk agent is also effortless, providing them more time to focus on essential guest needs and providing an improved stay experience.
Automated mobile key delivery is an innovative back-end feature that issues a secure encrypted mobile key to a guest’s smartphone immediately upon hotel check-in. In one easy step, the front-desk agent enters the mobile device number in the Property Management System to automatically initialize this feature. The OpenKey system interfaces with the SMS platform to handle the creation and delivery of the digital key to the guest’s smartphone.
The integrated solution from OpenKey and SMS is available at a number of hotels across the country, including Le Pavillon Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Churchill Hotel and the Melrose Georgetown Hotel in Washington, D.C. and the One Ocean Resort and Spa in Atlantic Beach, Florida. The OpenKey system works with every major global lock provider and is currently in 65 countries on six continents with an Eastern Hemisphere office in Shanghai, China.
