Sonesta Announces Two New VPs on Its Leadership Team

Appointments of hospitality veterans strengthen global sales and revenue management teams.

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation (Sonesta), one of the fastest-growing hospitality companies in the U.S., today announced two additions to its leadership team. Jeanne Montgomery Smith joins Sonesta as Vice President of Revenue Management and Kaaren Hamilton has been promoted to Vice President of Global Sales. Both Ms. Smith and Ms. Hamilton will report to Sonesta’s Chief Commercial Officer, Garine Ferejian-Mayo.

Ms. Smith brings more than 30 years of hospitality experience in talent development, change management, hotel transitions, process development and expertise in RMS/PMS systems and tools, as well as strategic revenue enhancement. Prior to joining Sonesta, Ms. Smith spent two decades at Marriott International and Starwood Hotels, where she held revenue leadership roles overseeing lifestyle, full service and select brands. Most recently, she served as the Vice President of Revenue for Peachtree Hospitality Management, where she was responsible for the revenue optimization strategies for its extensive portfolio of hotels.

Ms. Hamilton has 30 years of hospitality experience and joined Sonesta in connection with the RLH Corporation acquisition. She served as Vice President of Global Sales, Franchise & Development at RLH.  Previously, she was the Vice President of Global Sales for Carlson Rezidor Hotels, where she led the North American-based global sales organization.  An active member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), she recently completed a three-year term on the International Board of Directors and previously served as Chair of Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International’s (HSMAI) Sales Advisory Board.
