SageNet Strengthens Network Offerings With Aware Acquisition

The acquisition combines SageNet's and Aware's respective strengths to deliver a robust portfolio of managed network solutions.

SageNet, a managed services and cybersecurity solutions provider, has acquired Atlanta-based Aware Software, formerly known as Wandering WiFi.

Founded in 2003 as Wandering WiFi, the $23+ million company provides managed wireless infrastructure solutions, security and support across the hospitality, retail, restaurant, grocery, enterprise, healthcare and education industries.

The acquisition combines SageNet's and Aware's respective strengths to deliver a robust portfolio of managed network solutions.

Wandering WiFi re-branded as Aware Software in 2016 to reflect the company’s approach to managing the ever-expanding field of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Aware Software's new software platform is currently hosting pilot programs with several national retailers and health organizations.

The acquisition of Aware Software is the latest in a series of transitional moves SageNet has made recently. Over the past 24 months, the company has acquired a cybersecurity practice, greatly expanded its U.S.-based Security Operations Centers (SOCs) and Network Operations Centers (NOCs), opened a National Logistics Center, and substantially increased its presence in the growing digital signage sector.

These acquisitions and expansion have positioned SageNet for the future and reinforced the company’s capabilities in the rapidly growing fields of cybersecurity, WiFi and IoT, providing customers the tools and technology for a changing business landscape.

Terms for the deal were not disclosed. The companies will continue to operate under their respective brand names until the integration of the two companies is completed.
