River Bend Casino Hotel Chooses PMS Based on Ease of Use, Ability to Interface with Casino's Gaming System
When the Wyandotte Tribe decided to develop the River Bend Casino Hotel in 2016 it started property software shopping. The Tribe asked its new GM to attend a national gaming conference to evaluate casino back office gaming solutions and hotel property software systems.
“My business is casino hotel operations and I have worked with several property software systems at other casino hotels. We saw Maestro PMS at the show and included them in the systems we evaluated,” said Gary Johnson, General Manager of the River Bend Casino Hotel in Wyandotte, OK. “Maestro was the best system we reviewed. It was easy for our staff to learn, it interfaced with our Konami gaming system perfectly, and was cost effective for us.”
The River Bend Casino Hotel is operated by the Wyandotte Nation’s business development unit. The casino originally opened as the Wyandotte Nation Casino in 2013. In 2017, The Nation constructed the new full service hotel that includes a 600-person group convention center and an expanded gaming floor.
“Our challenge was that the hotel was not fully open when Maestro’s team came to train our new staff,” Johnson said. “We asked Maestro to return after we opened. They did a great job of bringing our people up to speed. The Konami back-of-house casino system is highly specialized and Maestro connected with it quickly. The interface works very well. Guests can charge to their room folio from any Konami location or point-of-sale terminal on property.”
River Bend Casino Hotel also uses Maestro’s ResWave online direct booking engine, integrated Sales and Catering and Yield Management systems, as well as other mobile modules and online tools.
“We plan to be trained and go live with Maestro’s mobile housekeeping and WebPRO online check-in soon,” said Melissa Morris, Hotel Manager.
WebPRO lets guests self-serve their registration online from their mobile device. It speeds up check-in and provides pre-arrival information to hotels for planning. Guests can access this via the hotel’s proprietary website or through a dynamic link enabled in their pre-arrival emails automated in Maestro.
“Our guests tell us it is very easy and seamless to make reservations directly on our website using Maestro’s ResWave real-time online booking engine,” Morris added.
