Pappas Restaurants Gets a Car Charge from Reliant

2/9/2012
Houston-based Pappas Bros. Steakhouse  is working with retail electricity provider Reliant, an NRG company, to install an electric vehicle charging station at its premier location on Westheimer Road in Houston. Now patrons can charge their electric vehicles, courtesy of Pappas Bros., while they dine.

The installation of the charging station helps advance the work of Reliant and its parent company, NRG Energy, to power the successful adoption of electric vehicles and to establish statewide public charging infrastructure.

The charging station is located in the Pappas Bros. Steakhouse parking lot and can deliver up to 25 miles per hour of charging. Two dedicated parking spaces near the charger will be reserved for EV owners wishing to charge their vehicles while they dine.

eVgo(R) -- also an NRG company - is bringing convenient charging plans to Texas, giving owners of electric vehicles the confidence of being only minutes away from the nearest charging station and offering consumers a fixed, low-cost, monthly rate for charging.
