Online Ordering Satisfies White Castle 'Crave' Faster

5/4/2011
White Castle, America's first fast-food restaurant, is moving into the new age of Crave with online ordering available in all locations. White Castle tested the service first in March in Minneapolis and has expanded it to all its restaurants.

"We wanted to make online ordering available to our customers for ease and convenience," says Jamie Richardson, vice president of corporate relations. "As a family owned business for 90 years now, one thing we know is most important is listening to our team members and customers. The test provided us important feedback on how to tailor the technology best to meet Cravers' needs everywhere."

"Slider nirvana" is just a click away for White Castle's die-hard Cravers because orders are now ready when they are. The service is especially beneficial for those with large orders.

Richardson adds that more people prefer to order their food online. "It's a matter of accessibility," he says. "Our customers are on the go and they need their Crave satiated quickly."

Customers using White Castle's online ordering can easily register with the site by creating a free online account and then locating their restaurant location of choice using an interactive map. Customers are then prompted to the virtual menu, where they can build their order and pay online or when they pick up their order.

The online ordering feature is just one of many new initiatives the company has launched in its 90th birthday year.
