NRA's ServSafe Releases Video on How to Reopen Restaurants Safely
The National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe division has released a new video offering restaurateurs guidance on how to reopen dining rooms safely as states begin to lift stay-in-place restrictions.

Throughout the coronavirus crisis, ServSafe has provided free resources that help industry employees learn the best practices to keep customers and themselves safe. This new training video, “ServSafe Reopening Guidance: COVID-19 Precautions,” offers information and tips on how to reopen following a state shutdown.
- Knowing the symptoms of COVID-19
- Preventing the spread
- Recognizing actions to reduce employee and guest risk
- Keeping guests and employees safe
- Guidelines for face coverings, hand washing, hand sanitizer use, and food handling
- Guidelines for cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting
- Changes to maintain social distancing
In addition to the new reopening guidance video, ServSafe also released training videos on safe takeout and delivery during the outbreak. Those videos aimed to help operators navigate the new business model they were required to adopt to maintain social distancing.
All three videos are free of charge and available in English and Spanish. In addition, ServSafe is offering the FoodHandler training course and exam free of charge through May.
