MPact Beacons Now Support Eddystone Protocol to Enhance Customer Experience
Zebra Technologies Corporation announced that through a collaboration with Google, the Zebra MPact beacon portfolio now supports the Eddystone™ protocol, an open beacon format that supports Android™ and iOS™ devices. Eddystone is a scalable Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon format that supports more effective mobile marketing engagement by allowing marketers to reach shoppers, guests and diners via the Chrome browser on any Android™ or iOS device.
By using Zebra MPact beacons, mobile marketers will now be able to easily engage with any customer who has a Chrome browser installed on their mobile phone running Android or iOS. As retailers and hospitality operators increasingly look for secure methods to protect customer privacy, Zebra's support for Eddystone will allow the delivery of a more secure beacon signal while enhancing the personalized shopping experience.
MPact is the only indoor locationing platform to unify Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® Smart technology, improving locationing accuracy while allowing marketers to capture more analytics and insight to take the next best action to serve shoppers at any time during their visit. Now with Eddystone support, MPact beacons provide increased access to consumers.
