Mobile Printer Reduces POS Developer Support Requirements
Epson America, Inc. has released a lineup of stationary and on-the-go printing solutions designed to work right out of the box and ideally-suited for connecting mobile POS (mPOS) devices. The dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP)-enabled printers allow for fast and easy network setup, reducing POS developer support requirements and greatly simplifying retailer and operator self-installation. The mPOS-friendly family includes four stationary versions, TM-T20II, TM-T70II, TM-T88V, TM-U220 and two mobile printers for on-the-go receipts, Mobilink™ P60II and Mobilink P80. Built with Epson's ePOS technology, the printers can easily be integrated into native and cloud-/web-based environments and support iOS, Android and Windows devices.
According to a recent report by IHL Group, sales of mPOS devices are exploding, with new mPOS device shipments expected to grow more than 95% worldwide, and surpass 108% growth in North America in 2014.
