Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort Taps OpenKey for Keyless Entry Technology

Set near the southeastern tip of the Virginia Peninsula within easy proximity of Norfolk, Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, the James River and the Chesapeake Bay, the newly remodeled Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort is an idyllic setting for recreation and relaxation. The resort entices with the luxury boutique Lodge at Kiln Creek, 18 holes of championship golf, a newly remodeled clubhouse, banquet and conference facilities, and the Manchester Grill restaurant, which is currently undergoing renovation into a fine dining destination with a sport-themed bar and additional event space.

Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort is all about guest satisfaction, so it joined in partnership with OpenKey to offer an experience-focused technology platform with a mobile access solution. The partnership will offer guests keyless access to their hotel rooms through the ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access solution and ASSA ABLOY Hospitality’s VingCard RFID electronic locks.

Beyond seamless room access without need of pesky – and ecologically detrimental – disposable plastic keys, the OpenKey solution will offer the option of remote check in, enabling guests to bypass the front desk of the resort’s luxury hotel, The Lodge at Kiln Creek. The app also will act as a one-stop shop for resort information including directions to the property, amenity booking, notification of early or late arrival, and more.

Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort feels this was the right move based on recent research. According to the annual North American Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study of J.D. Power and Associates, which sifted responses from thousands of guests from May 2016 to May 2017, hotels that incorporate mobile apps and functionality into a stay see higher guest satisfaction and more loyalty.
