InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam Boosts Web Traffic with Site Redesign
The InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam, a five-star hotel located in the heart of Amsterdam along the Amstel River selects TIG Global as its exclusive Internet marketing provider. In accordance with the partnership, TIG Global designed a custom website to speak to the historic hotel's unique offering of classic luxury and engage its multiple target audiences.
TIG Global worked with the InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam to design a new website that features a user-friendly layout and design, along with warm, inviting colors. The website is based on an interactive navigation system that allows users to expand the main navigation and reveal sub-navigation on the topics that interest them. This technique is used to avoid overwhelming visitors with excessive navigation options. To enhance the user experience and showcase the Hotel's superb location, TIG Global created an "Impressions" section featuring high-resolution videos and photo tours that amplify the grandness of the property, as well as highlight the Hotel's amenities and provide a tour of Amsterdam's famous surrounding attractions. A Hotel News and Awards section engages customers with the latest property accomplishments, including the recent honor of being named "Best Hotel of the Netherlands" in the Condé Nast Traveler Gold List 2008. Clear calls to action were also placed strategically throughout the site to encourage meeting and wedding business and the booking of individual packages. Finally, TIG Global optimized the entire website, including copy and tags, to maximize search engine visibility worldwide. The overall website was built in accordance with InterContinental brand standards and regulations.
Following the launch of the website in August 2008, the InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam hotel received nearly 4,000 unique site visitors and generated $100,000 in incremental revenue through the website.
