HITEC 2021 NEWS: Blonder Tongue Laboratories Announces New Solutions for Video Services
Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc., a US-based designer and manufacturer of telecommunications, video, and cable transmission technologies, announced a range of new innovations and technologies at HITEC Dallas 2021, including the BT-CMTS 1604U and BT-CMTS 3208+ Cable Modem Termination System and the Clearview HDMI2 QAM IP Encoder.
Blonder Tongue’s solutions address the need for simpler and lower cost complete re-distribution of IP and Broadcast video services at hospitality and SMB properties.
"Video distribution and data delivery technologies are rapidly advancing, and hospitality providers can quickly find themselves challenged to deliver modern high speed data rates. Today’s consumers expect the latest internet and video experiences but deploying service upgrades often comes at a significant cost,” said Ted Grauch, President and CEO of Blonder Tongue Laboratories. “Our latest DOCSIS CMTS, Video Encoder and Digital Signage solutions help bridge that gap by enabling advanced data speeds and video distribution, without having to replace costly infrastructure. They’re a great way to future-proof any hospitality or entertainment facility."
Blonder Tongue's highly customizable IP video encoders, transcoders, receivers, and re-multiplexing technologies are critical for hotels, stadiums, campuses, hospitals, conference centers, and other hospitality, SMB, and MDU properties that need to deliver advanced video and high-speed data services or redistribute and combine services coming from a mix of sources. They not only streamline new deployments but can also substantially extend the life of existing equipment by introducing modern capabilities that were previously unsupported. Additionally, they support a wide range of broadcast, HD, SD, OTT, and IPTV services, without the high cost and challenges related to replacing existing wiring and equipment.
- Recently updated CMTS 3208+ Cable Modem Termination System with integrated edge QAM features a powerful network processor with hardware acceleration, and can support up to 32 downstream, 8 upstream DOCSIS 3.0 channels as well a single Gigabit DOCSIS 3.1 downstream carrier and supports up to 1,000 cable modems per unit. At only 1 RU with a dual redundant power supply design, the resilient solution is perfect in edge locations, including those with adverse operating conditions like the high temperature ranges found in small rack rooms.
- BT Lab's Clearview Video Encoder Series delivers flawless live linear or on-demand video utilizing ultra-low latency hardware-based video compression, transcoding, and transrating technology to provide superior quality at low bit rates. These 1 RU solutions feature a simple interface with the ability to download and upload configuration files for multi-unit deployments and remote management. The new Clearview HDMI2-QAM IP can encode and modulate up to 2 HDMI 2.0 local video sources to either IP or QAM output, in MPEG-2, MPEG-4, or HEVC formats, making it ideal for high-performance local ingest, digital signage, and other aspects of cable conversion projects.
