Google Exec to Deliver Day 2 Keynote at MURTEC Executive Summit

Operators must choose wisely when deciding what data is good data. Analytics is a top strategic goal for 39% of restaurant technology investments in 2017, and its importance can’t be undervalued. However in an age of an overabundance of data, businesses need to crystallize what’s real, what’s “fake” or skewed and how to avoid the pitfalls of living in a data-hungry industry and world.

In the day two opening keynote titled: "Calling BS on Big Data," Janneke van Geuns, head of insights & analytics, food, beverage & restaurants for Google, will cut through data misconceptions to get to actionable best practices that will help restaurant operators do analytics right. Through her experiences across the restaurant industry, she will help attendees realize how to engage data to empower their companies.

Janneke van Geuns is head of insights & analytics at Google. She is leading a team of analysts who are responsible for taking analytics and search intent data to tell stories, drive strategy and prove impact for Google’s large food, beverage and restaurant advertisers. Before joining Google, van Geuns was a director of strategic analytics at creative advertising agency FCB. Originally from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, she moved to the United States 9 years ago to get her M.Sc in integrated marketing communications at Northwestern University where she specialized in marketing analytics.

A sister event to MURTEC (Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference), the MURTEC Executive Summit will be an intimate gathering of senior-level executives, unique from other technology events in the industry. The format and content is designed to draw in technology thought leaders and influencers in a program that prioritizes group discussions, two-way dialogue, and collaboration amongst both peers and sponsors.

The audience of 75 senior-level technology decision makers and influencers from the nation’s leading and emerging restaurant brands will consist of C-suite, VP and director-level titles and is invitation only. Technology leaders will be joined by line-of-business executives who influence IT decisions – marketing, analytics, finance, customer experience and more.

The unique agenda includes collaboration exercises, with the intent to spark both peer-to-peer and peer-to-sponsor discussion. Sessions are designed to generate new ideas and conversations between attendees and technology experts. The strategic and relevant content focuses on driving innovation in today’s restaurant environment.

The MURTEC Executive Summit offers a low pressure environment for building relationships with potential partners. The inaugural MURTEC Executive Summit will take place November 5-7, 2017 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
