Durham Hotel Eliminates PBX

2/23/2017
Hosted America and BroadSoft, Inc. announced that The Durham Hotel eliminated its hotel PBX and is fully operational with a cloud-based unified communications and collaboration (UCC) platform designed specifically for hoteliers. The Hosted America UCC platform, powered by BroadSoft, enables The Durham Hotel to deliver an enhanced guest experience with improved staff productivity and simplified requirements for technology management with instant messaging, presence information, voice, mobility features, audio, web and video conferencing capabilities.

BroadSoft teamed with Hosted America, a provider of IP voice, data, fiber, and managed services to the hospitality industry, to support The Durham Hotel’s modernization of its network infrastructure. The property, one of the region’s most prestigious destinations, was completely gutted before being transformed into a state-of-the-art, tech-savvy hotel delivering a best in class array of guest services.

“Renovating an older, historical building required a network infrastructure that occupied as small a physical footprint as possible,” said Craig Spitzer, General Manager, The Durham Hotel. “By leveraging Hosted America’s fiber network – as well as BroadSoft Hospitality’s cloud offering – we were able to quickly and cost-effectively transform our communications network and experience all the benefits cloud services can offer.”

BroadSoft Hospitality delivers cloud communications services developed specifically for hotel properties and their guests. Hotels can interact with guests and employees across distributed and diverse, fixed and mobile touch points, and property staff can stay operational while mobile, from any location on the property, using any device. The BroadSoft Hospitality cloud delivery model accelerates hotel access to new and emerging communications features while revolutionizing the cost structure of how they pay for communications services and innovation.
