Crave Hot Dogs and BBQ Adds Self-Serve Beer Wall

Guests at Crave will be able to pour their own beers , thanks to iPourIt's RFID technology.

Crave Hot Dogs and BBQ  has partnered with IPourIt to add a self-serve beer wall to its fast casual barbecue restaurants.

The beer wall gives the customers the option to pour their own beers, choosing from any of the local craft and domestic draft beer offerings. Each location will have anywhere from 18-32 tap handles. Along with local craft and domestic beers, Crave will also offer a red wine, white wine and cider option on tap. ”It’s important to deliver a variety of options to our customers and to utilize the beers that are local to each location,” said Crave.

How it Works
Staff check in guests using iPourIt's software that authenticates their driver’s license and confirms they are of age. This technology uses an algorithm that collects valuable demographic data for the operator, including gender, age and zip code. This is aggregate data used to assign a unique ID for each patron. Guests then receive a RFID wristband and are then able to self-pour draft beer, wine, or any combination of the two. (Ounce limits are programmable.) Guests can learn about the beers and wine by reading the digital screen located on top of every tap.

iPourIt is a provider of self-serve beverage dispense technology with 3,400 taps in operation and of 83.4 million ounces poured since 2012.
