Boston Airport Hotel Gives Guests Real-Time Airline Flight Schedules
More than 80 percent of the guests staying at the Four Points by Sheraton Boston Logan Airport hotel travel through nearby Logan International Airport. Knowing this, Michael Buddemeyer, general manager, decided he wanted to offer guests the convenience of knowing their flight status before they left the hotel.
To do so, he worked with Flyte Systems to install a digital flight information display called FlyteBoard. The FlyteBoard shows real-time arrivals, departures and gate information for one or more airports.
The technology is customizable, and hotels could choose to add Doppler Radar Weather to FlyteBoard for guest convenience or display property promotion graphics and other revenue generating information. And since hotel guests tend to remain on the hotel's property when they see via FlyteBoard that their flight has been delayed, hotels can often realize increased revenue from beverage or meal purchases.
Flyte Systems is a division of Industrial Television Services (ITS), based in Chicago. ITS is a digital signage solutions company with more than 56 years of experience specializing in real-time information delivery.
