Avvio and HotelPartner celebrate successful partnership with The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen

Staff from global hospitality technology company Avvio and yield management business HotelPartner will be on neighbouring stands at this year’s World Travel Market (WTM) London, a global travel trade show.

Following a successful recent partnership, the two service providers will be supporting each other at November’s Travel Forward Conference, co-located with WTM London. The conference will see travel brands and top decision makers from the technology arena sharing expert insights, and Avvio and HotelPartner will have the opportunity to talk to attendees about the results of their work together.

In 2017, the two hospitality technology brands were appointed by The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen to establish a better booking experience for guests and better rate management for their in-house revenue team. The luxury hotel’s existing property management system has been integrated with Avvio’s powerful booking engine and HotelPartner’s automated yield management system to help grow their online bookings.

HotelPartner works with more than 450 hotels and accommodation providers. Their automated yield management system works to encourage direct bookings during peak demand period and uses an inbuilt commission optimiser to close out high commission channels when occupancy parameters are met.

The solution works in real time combining an RMS (Rate Management System) with channel management and rate shopping, which is fully supported by a team of revenue and content managers.

Avvio’s booking platform guarantees a 25% increase in direct booking revenue for hotels and accommodation providers. The engine uses artificial intelligence to drive growth in direct bookings through improving personal customer experiences with better interactions between hotels and guests, and through reducing customer dependence on online travel agency channels.

The Chester is one of the most desirable boutique hotels in Aberdeen and is only one of three hotels in the country to be rated AA four-star silver. Its two-red rosette IX restaurant was recently named as the North East of Scotland’s restaurant hotel of the year.

Stephen Gow, general manager at The Chester, explained: “HotelPartner introduced us to Avvio, as they are the booking engine of choice, so it was a logical partnership for the two tech providers to work on to support our hotel. HotelPartner offers an exceptional all-in solution, which works seamlessly with our existing systems.

“We’ve also recently started working with Avvio to create a better online experience for our guests. We were attracted by how streamlined the booking process is, and the fact it’s fully integrated to our existing website and property management system. Our initial results are just in and show how we’re significantly outperforming other luxury hotels in the area, which I’m delighted with.”

Ian Sloan, Avvio’s VP of client strategy, was pleased with the early results: “Shortly after launching the partnership with Avvio and HotelPartner, the rooms revenue ended the month 28% up year-on-year whilst the comp set only grew by 4%, according to performance data from STR. Direct business has increased from 15% to 35% of online bookings.”

The Chester has been so impressed with the performance that the integration between the hotel’s PMS, HotelPartner and Avvio has now been extended to their sister property, The Chester Residence – the number one rated hotel in Edinburgh on TripAdvisor.

WTM London is taking place on 5-7 November at ExCeL London. Both technology providers will be exhibiting in the Travel Forward area; find Avvio at stand TT434 and HotelPartner at stand TT432.
