12 ReTech, SoftPoint Offer Integrated Tool to Process Payments

12 ReTech Corp. has signed an agreement with SoftPoint to integrate SoftPoint’s secure EMV point-of-sale (POS) applications with certain components of its 12 Technology Suite.

SoftPoint offers a fully integrated payment system designed to enhance restaurant, retail and hotel sales. SoftPoint uses smart terminals to offer solutions that mitigate risks, reduce processing costs and eliminate fraudulent charges. The integration is expected to streamline merchant’s operations and provide consumers with a better experience.

Even with built-in chips, these new payment cards are used in POS terminals that still use the older magnetic stripe technology. This solution utilizes EMV specialized hardware POS devices on credit/debit cards.  One of the configurations that is being offered is a handheld device that a sales associate will use for on-the-spot sales transactions. The same device will contain the 12InStore APP so that the sales associate can access all the information about a product that is available and be able to assist a customer who has questions about merchandise at the same time.
