105-Year Old NYC Hotel Tops off Restoration with Cloud-Connected TV

8/4/2011
The Chatwal in New York has installed Envision, LodgeNet Interactive Corporation’s high-definition, interactive TV platform.

The building’s history dates back to 1905, when it opened as home to The Lambs – America’s first professional theatrical club. More recently, under the direction of master architect and designer Thierry Despont, the structure has been meticulously restored and modernized as a 76-room hotel that melds traditional glamour and contemporary luxury. The Chatwal New York is part of the Starwood Luxury Collection and is managed by Hampshire Hotels & Resorts, LLC.

Guests turning on the in-room TVs are greeted by an all-new, cloud-connected television experience with a suite of apps inviting them to readily access hotel and local information, check weather and review flight details. A wide range of HD entertainment is also available, including the best still-in-theater Hollywood movies and much more.

“From the beginning, we have focused on delivering an experience that blends the best of bygone eras with the most advanced amenities of today,” said Joel A. Freyberg, General Manager of The Chatwal New York. “The Envision system aligns perfectly with that vision by allowing our guests to access the latest digital and Web-based content through the medium that remains the most popular and comfortable for them to use: the television.”
