Worldhotels Partners with OpenKey to Offer Guests Keyless Entry Technology
What’s the key to empowering true independence in the hotel industry? No keys at all. Worldhotels said it has joined in partnership with OpenKey, a provider of mobile key technology to hotels, to offer an experience-focused technology platform with a mobile access solution at 350 independent upscale hotel properties around the world. Primary among the partnership’s benefits is providing guests at Worldhotels properties with convenient keyless access to their hotel rooms, resulting in more guest satisfaction and loyalty.
Through this partnership with OpenKey technology, Worldhotels is riding the wave of the future in hospitality – and the present. In spring 2016, the trade magazine Hospitality Technology identified “mobile ubiquity” as one of “Six Mega Trends” in the industry, estimating that one-quarter of hotels plan to deploy mobile keys by year-end 2017.
Along with convenient keyless room access, Worldhotels properties will be able to offer guests the OpenKey app for conveniences including obtaining directions to the property, booking amenities, notifying hotels of early or late arrival, and more. The environment will also benefit, as OpenKey technology eliminates the need for disposable plastic keys.
