The Willard Hotel Announces New Technology for Live Events

Big Whig Media, a full-service multimedia center, announced additional capabilities at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C. Additional access to the extended fiber connection will expand offerings for live events to multiple event rooms covering over 9,700 square feet, including the Grand Ballroom, at the historic Willard Hotel.

“As we expand our capabilities in the historic Willard Hotel in downtown Washington, event organizers and businesses across D.C. can now access this resource to broadcast events in real-time,” said Keith Nahigian, co-founder of Big Whig Media.

Connecting the Willard Grand Ballroom to Big Whig Media's broadcast center provides event organizers and conference attendees direct access to the entire global broadcast infrastructure. Tokyo, London, Tel Aviv, Moscow, and New York and the U.S. broadcast network pool are all major distribution points reachable via satellite, fiber, and IP delivery systems. Now single or multi-camera productions can be managed inside Big Whig's control room. This connectivity allows for organizations hosting large events and conferences to conduct press conferences, media interviews, live shot positions, and hybrid events where high-quality online distribution is a priority.

“As our country moves past the milestone of over 100 million fully vaccinated adults, we are thrilled with the hybrid event services being offered by Big Whig Media and the Willard Intercontinental in Washington, DC,” said Justin Caporale, Director of Operations and Senior Vice President of Event Strategies, Inc., a global event planning company.
