Moneris Solutions Corporation has announced it has been accredited to self-certify EMV-chip and PIN, and chip and signature terminals for five major credit card brands. With this authorization, Moneris is the only processor in North America with the ability to perform self-certification for merchants on behalf of American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa and Union Pay.
 
Report Reveals U.S. Mobile Payment Market to Increase 54 Percent in 2016
Robust growth is projected through 2019 based on the almost certain continued movement toward smartphone usage saturation and an increase over time in the percentage of smartphone users making mobile payments at the point of sale. Presently the market is benefitting from activity involving a quartet of major industry players: PayPal, Android Pay, Apple Pay, and Starbucks. Significant payment usage via the Starbucks private label mobile app and the PayPal general-use digital wallet, in addition to growing usage traction for Apple Pay and Android Pay, are at the center of this thriving industry.
 
Domino's Adds Apple Watch to List of Ways to Order
Domino's now has yet another way for customers to place their Easy Order: via Apple Watch. Domino’s added Apple Watch to its lineup of ordering capabilities beginning on February 17, 2016. Apple Watch marks Domino's ninth platform in the suite of AnyWare technology. Domino's is the first national pizza company in the U.S. to launch ordering capabilities via Apple Watch. In January, Domino's U.K. announced that its customers could use its Easy Order app for Apple Watch.
 
Heartland and Smart Card Alliance Collaborate to Improve Payments and Data Security
Heartland Payment Systems has announced it has worked with the Smart Card Alliance to launch the National Center for Advanced Payments and Identity Security, a new training facility hosted by the Alliance. Through a grant from Heartland, the new center will help protect consumers’ privacy and advance the data security of payments and identity through education programs on industry best practices and advances in security technology.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. in Miami has selected the InfoGenesis® POS and DataMagine™ systems to optimize workflow efficiency and enhance guest service on its two newest ships - Harmony of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas. With these additions, 37 Royal Caribbean vessels now use Agilysys solutions.
