Sharp Introduces New UP-V990 Series POS System
Sharp introduces its new UP-V9900 point of sale (POS) system. Offering the flexibility to run the QSR/TSR/retail convenience/gas station software, the open-platform UP-V9900 provides owners with exceptional operation capabilities as well as a durable, weather-resistant touchscreen LCD that can withstand the rigors of heavy daily usage, making it ideal for virtually any retail, restaurant and convenience environment.
The UP-V9900 Series features three unique models to better suit customer viewing needs: the UP-V9900 base model without customer display; the UP-V900V with 2-line, 20 character VFD customer display screen; and the UP-V-9900L with a 12.1" Class (12.1-inch diagonal) customer display TFT Screen. Each model is ready for multiple types of business that an owner might have while still utilizing a common design that can be used in multiple locations.
The three models in the UP-V9900 Series feature a 15" Class (15" diagonal) TFT LCD touchscreen with brilliant clarity, optimum readability and quick response time. Each model features a number of useful, standard features, including a 2.8 GHz Intel processor, integrated magnetic card reader, 512 MB memory (expandable to 2 GB), USB and Serial connectors for additional peripherals, the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system, and common control object drivers.
Perhaps the most versatile feature of these new terminals is the Open POS Platform. With the open architecture, operators can choose from Sharp-Certified Software Partners, or use their own applications, and build a system that perfectly fits their needs and can grow or change with their business.
