San Francisco's Tilden Hotel Installs OpenKey Mobile Key Technology

11/29/2016
The Tilden Hotel, a Point Hospitality Group property located in San Francisco's historic Tenderloin district near Union Square, said it selected OpenKey mobile key technology to elevate its guest experience.

While OpenKey is known for its flexibility and security of its digital key, the complementary consumer app also provides guests with capabilities such as hotel check-in directly from their smartphone, directions to the hotel and the ability to book amenities.

"We are excited to offer OpenKey to our guests at Tilden Hotel," said General Manager Jason Webb. "As a pillar of the historic Tenderloin district, we strive to offer an unassuming, stylish and organic appeal with refreshing surprises. By evolving from plastic keycards to mobile keyless entry, OpenKey aids us in achieving this goal. At the Tilden Hotel, we strive to pay homage to the city's history and future with each part of our hotel, and by adding this technology, we are doing just that."

The OpenKey app provide hotel guests the convenience of keyless entry, and reduces the waste associated with needing non-biodegradable plastic keycards, which is both a cost savings for the hotel and good for the environment.

The boutique hotel originally boomed in the Depression Era and was known as an affordable neighborhood hotel for working class San Franciscans. After being redesigned by Studio Tack, it reinterprets ideas of minimalism with a refined sense of composure. The relaxed, sophisticated guestrooms illustrates the hotel's effort to be an organic, timeless and minimalistic hotel.

The OpenKey app is available to download in the iOS App and Google Play stores and works with Bluetooth enabled locks.
