Radisson Hotel Group and IE University to Train International Talent on Revenue Management
Radisson Hotel Group and IE University are leading the training of international talent in revenue management in the hospitality industry. International students of IE University’s Bachelor in Business Administration and Master in Management programs will take part in the Summer Campus that Radisson Hotel Group has organized in conjunction with the academic institution to expand their knowledge of revenue management in the hotel industry. This project will run from June 28 to July 2 and will take place at The Club of Revenue Management by RHG, at the company’s Center of Excellence which has recently opened in Madrid, with the aim of identifying, attracting and training talent all over the world. A diverse group of participants from countries such as Germany, Italy, Chile, Colombia or Côte d’Ivoire as well as Spain will join this summer camp.
Experts from The Club of Revenue Management by RHG will share their expertise through classes and case studies to the IE University students on topics such as big data, revenue management, distribution, inventory management or pricing, among others. The young participants will deepen their knowledge in financial disciplines focused on the hotel industry and will analyze real cases.
“At Radisson Hotel Group, we take our culture belief ‘we grow talent, talent grows us’ to heart. Both at Radisson Hotel Group and IE University our aim is to develop and boost talent with a global approach. This program is the first of a series of long-term projects. It is an unusual –and very effective – learning experience that has sparked a lot of international interest”, says Federico J. González Tejera, CEO of Radisson Hotel Group.
In turn, Lee Newman, Dean of IE Business School, indicates that “this collaboration between IE Business School and Radisson Hotel Group shows our commitment to involve our students in practical learning experiences with leading international businesses. It also shows the importance that Radisson gives to developing young talents from all over the world, in this case aimed at young leaders who can contribute to the company’s ambitious expansion.”
The Revenue Management department is key in a company like Radisson Hotel Group. It is responsible for optimizing all revenue flows in the hotels, for selling the right product to the right consumer, at the right time, the right price and in the right place. In Radisson Hotel Group, this department is spread over three offices (Madrid, Saint Petersburg and Dubai), providing service to the company’s hotels throughout the world.
“We saw there was an opportunity to boost synergies and provide specialized training. Working together, we have designed this project for the Club of Revenue Management by RHG”, explains Gianni Di Fede, the Group’s Vice-President of Revenue Management, BI & Distribution for EMEA. “We see the commitment to talent as something fundamental. Our goal is to create a culture of excellence and to become – both ourselves and the people who learn with us– the best at what we do”, adds Di Fede.
