7/31/2017
Leadership can’t exist in a silo. New paradigms and the modern digital consumer are reshaping how technology fits into greater overall business strategies. During a General Session on Tuesday, Nov. 7, Mike Nettles, SVP and CIO of Papa John's International will participate in a panel discussion on the topic: The Business of Technology. Attendees won’t want to miss a powerhouse panel featuring top technology leaders from the restaurant industry. Through a candid discussion, find out what is keeping these execs up at night, what technology they are excited about, and how they make IT a part of the overall business strategy. This is a unique opportunity to get inside the minds of the restaurant industry’s top executives in the C-suite.

Nettles has spent almost 30 years of his professional career becoming a self-ascribed “gearhead foodie.” His background includes work for several multi-concept global restaurant hospitality brands. He has delivered technology and business solutions for some of the biggest and most respected names in the industry. Nettles' technical expertise extends to encompass the entire technology solution set enabling the business, from the design and implementation of store level order management and fulfillment solutions to the accounting and home office ERP solutions. Furthermore, he has taken the entire customer experience journey outside of the confines of traditional technology to bring about world-class consumer facing solutions, redefining the industry standards for what successful digital transformation looks like for both the customer and the business.

Before joining Papa John’s International as their SVP, Chief Information and Digital Officer, Nettles was the VP of Architecture and IT Strategy for Panera Bread Company, responsible for the entire design and development of the industry-defining “Panera 2.0” transformative digital effort. Prior to joining Panera, Nettles was the Co-Founder for Savista (formerly eMac Digital), the provider of global store solutions to McDonald’s Corporation as well as provider of complete outsourced accounting and payroll services to more than 5000 restaurants in the USA. Mike has also led the overall technology strategy and design of many solutions for brands such as Brinker International, McDonald’s, Subway, Starbuck’s, Wendy’s, Domino’s, Pizza Hut and many others, with many of these solutions still in full deployment well after their initial deployment decades ago.

A sister event to MURTEC (Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference), the MURTEC Executive Summit will be an intimate gathering of senior-level executives, unique from other technology events in the industry. The format and content is designed to draw in technology thought leaders and influencers in a program that prioritizes group discussions, two-way dialogue, and collaboration amongst both peers and sponsors.

The audience of 75 senior-level technology decision makers and influencers from the nation’s leading and emerging restaurant brands will consist of C-suite, VP and director-level titles and is invitation only. Technology leaders will be joined by line-of-business executives who influence IT decisions – marketing, analytics, finance, customer experience and more.

The unique agenda includes collaboration exercises, with the intent to spark both peer-to-peer and peer-to-sponsor discussion. Sessions are designed to generate new ideas and conversations between attendees and technology experts. The strategic and relevant content focuses on driving innovation in today’s restaurant environment.

The MURTEC Executive Summit offers a low pressure environment for building relationships with potential partners. The inaugural MURTEC Executive Summit will take place November 5-7, 2017 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
