Gaylord Palms Slashes Operating Costs with RFID Locks
The Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center took secure access to a new level when the full-service property converted to Kaba Saflok MT RFID electronic door locks. Kaba’s locks interface seamlessly with property management and energy management systems. The networked Saflok solution delivers total property security platform, durability and guest convenience. Kaba provides the Saflok™ and ILCO™ brands of electronic locks.
"We evaluated lock options via a request for proposals and chose Kaba," said Bill Goeller, director of engineering for Gaylord Palms. "The combination of secure access for guests, lock durability to lower maintenance, and fast installation are unbeatable." Saflok RFID keys are "extremely reliable," adds Goeller. "That makes for a much more satisfactory and consistent at-the-door guest experience. I have used Saflok at other properties. I know the product works."
Gaylord Palms specifically sought out online networked locks that interface with its INCOMM by Honeywell thermostats and INNCOM property network. "The lock alerts security officers when a door is left ajar for too long or a lock is not working," said Goeller. "We can tell when people enter a room and when it is empty. The online network creates a more secure environment for guests."
