Coconut Kenny’s Restaurant Group Selects SpeedLine POS

Training on the new SpeedLine POS system at Coconut Kenny’s in Lynden, Wash.

Coconut Kenny’s has selected SpeedLine point of sale as the exclusive POS technology partner for its Northern Washington based-pizza and sandwich restaurant chain. To date, Coconut Kenny’s has installed new SpeedLine systems in three of its six locations, with more installations planned this year and in early 2019.

Coconut Kenny’s owner Chay Tan made his POS selection at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas earlier this year.

“We met with a lot of companies, and we liked the appearance and functionality of SpeedLine,” Tan said. “I went to the Expo with a specific list of ‘Can-you-do-this?’ and their team was able to answer all my questions on the spot.”

Tan wanted to partner with a POS company his restaurants could grow with. As he plans to franchise the Coconut Kenny’s concept, one priority was to upgrade to an enterprise POS system.

“We needed the aspects of a POS designed for larger restaurant chains, like above-store reporting and central menu management,” he said.

During each installation, employees of Tan’s tropical-themed restaurants receive extensive in-person training on the POS.

“There was a learning curve as staff got used to the new software at the first location. The SpeedLine installer took his time to train my staff how to use the system properly.”
