AMEX Adds Restaurant Reservations

After acquiring online restaurant reservation site Resy in May, American Express is launching a restaurant reservation service.

Platinum and Centurion AMEX holders can book restaurant reservations via the payment card's app. The rollout of the new feature will begin with a “portion” of the member base and gradually expand to all Platinum and Centurion cardholders early next year, according to reports.

Amex told CNBC is dining is the number-one request through the Platinum concierge and a top spending category for cardholders.
