Vancouver Hilton Adopts New Restaurant Management Solution

The Hilton Vancouver Metrotown, a 283 guest room four-diamond hotel located in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, has installed SquirrelOne Release 5 to manage restaurant operations at its food and beverage facilities.

Peter Yip, director of food & beverage at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown, indicates that the selection of SquirrelOne was based on the availability of several key features he felt would help streamline the Hilton's operation.

"We were very excited when we saw the new SquirrelOne table management interface. Through the color coding, it is easy to see when table states change, thus allowing us to better service our guests," states Yip. "We are also making use of the SquirrelOne Loyalty module. The integration between Loyalty, Reservations and Table Management makes it easy to see when we have a repeat guest and to view their history in real-time so that we can better respond to their individual preferences."

Also included in this new version are the abilities to initiate the review of a restaurant guest check from the property management system and to make a guest's restaurant reservation from the front desk. "Recalling a disputed guest check has always been a manual process for us," reports Yip. "This new feature will make it easy for us to review a guest's restaurant check at the front desk. Providing this service for our guests will significantly speed up the process of resolving these issues."
