Squirrel POS Implementation Streamlines Operations for RPB Hotels & Resorts

RPB Hotels & Resorts announces that it has standardized the company's four hotels on the SquirrelOne Release 4 POS system. RPB indicates that the move was made in response to the wishes of Ramada and Best Western -- the flags under which RPB's properties operate -- to have the hotels' property management systems on one of the approved corporate systems.

"Two of our hotels had Squirrel Classic and two had another older point of sale system," says Craig Prystay, general manager of RPB's Best Western Sands Hotel. "For Best Western alone we had a choice of six possible property management systems. Our research revealed that Squirrel interfaced with all of the choices."

Aside from fulfilling the corporate directive, standardization streamlined RPB's operations across the four properties' combination of bars and restaurants. Hotel management is already seeing the benefits of the new system.

"It's too early to declare definitive results but there was an immediate change in our controls," states Prystay. "We are now capturing more sales as a result of Squirrel's pop-up modifier feature that requires the input of order modifications, some of which are priced."

RPB Hotels and Resorts operates The Best Western Sands Hotel in Vancouver BC; The Best Western Vernon Lodge in the North Okanagan, BC; The Ramada Hotel & Conference Center in Central Okanagan, BC; and The Penticton Lakeside Resort Convention Centre and Casino in Lake Okanagan, BC.
