Silver Diner Tackles Online Ordering

Silver Diner, operater of fifteen casual dining restaurants in Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia has chosen to implement the CBORD Group's Webfood online ordering system after a twelve month pilot program.

"Our vision is to serve our customers by meeting their lifestyle needs. Online ordering fit that vision. Our criterion for success was a system that was easy for our customers to use and easy for us to maintain," says Mike Snow, director of information systems for Silver Diner.

Changes entered into Silver Diner's POS system interface automatically with Webfood, eliminating dual entry. The system also allows Silver Diner to build in order lead times and limit the number of orders that can be efficiently handled.

"We found Webfood to be robust and flexible. The direct interface with our POS system is the key feature. The order is directly entered into our system, which transmits the order straight to our kitchen."
