RFID Improves Skier Experience at Vail Resorts
Vail Resorts, operator of the Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Heavenly ski resorts has chosen SkyeTek as its solutions partner in the development of a new wireless on-mountain RFID network and suite of Web services. The new technology platform will enable Vail Resorts to improve operational efficiencies and enhance guest services over the upcoming ski seasons.
Vail plans to pilot the use of SkyeTek's technology to RFID-enable select lift passes for automated authentication this season. The objective of the pilot is to prove the technology as the basis for a better on-mountain experience for guests through the enablement of a wide variety of enhanced guest services and operational efficiencies.
"By leveraging the new technology platform, we expect to further our reputation as innovators in this area. We evaluated many potential technology partners and SkyeTek was able to seamlessly converge RFID and Web services with our existing base of applications," says Robert Urwiler, CIO of Vail Resorts.
