Regent On-Board with Credit Cards

Passengers of the Regent Seven Seas Cruises' vessels can now make on-board credit card authorizations via a Southern DataComm (protobase.com) and Micros Fidelio (micros.com) Cruise Systems solution. The entire fleet was integrated at the end of last month. The automated process/system features wireless, high-speed credit card processing and is currently utilized by Regent's passengers at variety of locations throughout the ships. The credit processing increases customer service and does not require retailers' advance authorization because exact charges are credited each night with settlement, which is important for the high dollar amounts charged on this six star cruise line. "The benefits we have realized since implementing Protobase on our ships include a reduction in time spent processing credit card authorizations and settlements, automating the authorization process, reviewing and controlling the transactions from our shore-side operations and increased data security," says Katie Cordray, Regent Seven Seas Cruises operations analyst.
