Red Robin CIO to Keynote MURTEC
Hospitality Technology magazine has announced that Chris Laping, senior vice president, business transformation/CIO of Red Robin Gourmet Burgers will kick off the 18th Annual Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference (MURTEC®). Laping will present his keynote address, “Don't React to Change, Drive it! How Technology can Lead the Business” on Thursday, March 14 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
During the session, Laping will present his views on how the technology department is naturally in a position to drive change, but all too often IT leaders take a reactionary role, responding to goals set by operations and marketing departments. This approach ignores the inherent ability of IT departments to innovate.
In MURTEC's high-energy keynote address, Laping will help fellow IT executives understand how to harness their power to influence corporate structure and the brand. A lot of best practices are built into the technology innovation process. If these practices also flow into organizational design, IT can drive the business as much as marketing and operations.
MURTEC® will take place March 13-15. The theme for this year’s event is, “Restaurant Technology in a Customer Driven Landscape.” Entering its 18th year, MURTEC® brings together more than 550 industry executives -- including restaurant technology, finance, and operations professionals and technology solution providers -- for three days of peer-to-peer exchange of ideas and best practices. Lauded by attendees as the "gold standard" for restaurant technology insight, MURTEC® offers both compelling educational sessions and top-notch networking opportunities. Pre-registration is required.
