3/14/2019

MURTECⓇ, (Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference) wrapped up its successful 2019 event in Las Vegas on March 13 with a significant 8.5 percent surge in restaurant operator attendance and 11 percent growth in the number of participating companies.

Produced by Hospitality Technology (HT), MURTEC featured a sold-out show floor with a record number of exhibitors and sponsors offering solutions in every category from workforce management to AI to restaurant management software and point of sale systems.

Leaning into the theme of "Powering the Possible," MURTEC 2019 identified the major trends facing restaurants and how to implement solutions to challenges such as managing data, capturing customer loyalty, making delivery a strategic success, and leveraging voice technology.

Nearly 900 technology executives from quick service restaurants, fast casual, full-service, upstart brands and solution providers attended. “MURTEC has been at the center of the restaurant technology industry for more than two decades, and the pace of innovation continues to move faster,” commented Vice President and Brand Director Abigail A. Lorden. “We’re passionate about helping this industry stay ahead of tech trends and delivering the most innovative and valuable experience we can. The surge in attendance and energy in the sessions and exhibit hall reinforce that we’re providing a must-attend event to this industry.”

During MURTEC, Hospitality Technology announced the launch of the Restaurant Technology Network (RTN), a new membership community dedicated to technology innovation for restaurants. RTN enables restaurant operators and solution providers to identify and solve industry challenges through peer work groups, standards development and best practices.

Honorees for the third annual celebration of innovative women include: Cacy Merrifield, Sonic Drive-In; Carissa De Santis, TGI Friday's; Laura Kirkwood, Merivale; Sif Rai, QikServe; Kesha Williams, Chick-fil-A; Allison Page, SevenRooms; Nora Naranjo, eatsa; Kathy Hartman, HubKonnect; Kristi Turner, Compeat; and Laura Rea Dickey, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit.
