McDonald's Puts on Contactless Blitz

McDonald's and MasterCard International enlist help from Troy Aikman, the MVP of Super Bowl XXVII and six-time Pro Bowl quarterback to introduce MasterCard PayPass, a contactless payment technology that help consumers speed their way through payments. With PayPass, small ticket purchases are completed quickly, securely and easily, without needing to swipe a card, fumble for cash and coins or sign a receipt.

Aikman recently "paid" and then "passed" lunches out to members of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club at a McDonald's restaurant in midtown Manhattan, proving that even in the world's busiest city, PayPass can help consumers enjoy meals by adding speed and convenience to the purchase process. In addition, MasterCard will make a matching donation to the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club for each lunch purchased during the event.

"Our customers are lovin' the speed, convenience and innovative technology of MasterCard's PayPass," says Gina Pfeifer, vice president of business integration for McDonald's USA. "Offering innovative technology, faster service and added security to help our customers get the great tasting meal they come to expect from McDonald's, is priceless."
