Live from NRF 2012: Microsoft Showcases How Technology Can Help Retailers and Customers Alike

1/1/2003
Microsoft Corp. will showcase how new technologies and its broad ecosystem of partner solutions can help retailers realize the future of retailing today — putting customers at the center of their business and delivering the personalized, seamless and differentiated experiences that shoppers have come to expect. Microsoft booth No. 1337 will feature these sections:

The Customer Connection. Attendees will have a chance to experience firsthand how they can reinvent the customer experience through connected shopping scenarios across multiple digital channels in-store and online. With connected devices — including smartphones such as Windows Phone 7, digital signage powered by Windows Embedded with Kinect for Windows, the Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft Surface and point-of-service tablets — working seamlessly together, retailers and store associates can provide a new level of interactive and personalized services. Advances in digital marketing solutions and campaign measurement will also assist retailers in creating more effective and relevant digital experiences.

Microsoft Dynamics. The booth will also showcase the powerful capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics, providing retailers with a seamless and differentiating solution for multichannel management, store operations, supply chain, merchandising and financials, which enables the dynamic retailer to be connected, empowered and proactive to meet and exceed customer expectations with superior time to value. Attendees will be able to preview the upcoming release of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 for Retail, providing enterprise and midmarket retailers with an end-to-end solution that includes cross-channel capabilities, social and mobile commerce, enriched point of sale, and powerful enhancements for merchandising. These capabilities are designed to help retailers deliver the complete shopping experience to their customers.

Innovation. Microsoft and its partners will showcase how the latest in touch, gesture and augmented reality can help retailers attract, engage and connect with their customers. Visitors to the booth can step inside the future of shopping, seeing the power of 3-D technology for immersive virtual dressing room and in-store planning experiences. Leading-edge solutions for location-based awareness, social media insight, mobile checkout and the latest devices, including Windows Phone 7 and employee assisted-service tools, will be on display.

Retail Operations. Demonstrations will showcase the latest in Microsoft technologies and partner solutions designed to drive greater efficiencies, improve employee productivity and collaboration, and enable better insight and decision-making across the retail organization, all helping increase profitability and customer satisfaction.
