HTNG Delivers New Startup Forum to the Community Led by Ron Tarro

1/5/2021

Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG) introduces a new startup forum exclusively for HTNG Startup Members, ‘Accelerating Your Technology’s Adoption in Hospitality: An HTNG Discussion for Startups.’

The first two sessions of the series discussed the buying decisions in hospitality and how to navigate brand standards. This forum will continue monthly to address important industry trends, navigate business strategy and provide insight from discussions with seasoned hospitality professionals on HTNG’s Board of Governors.

“A key part of HTNG’s mission is to encourage and enable innovation in the hospitality industry,” said Michael Blake, CEO of HTNG. “After creating a highly discounted startup membership option several years ago and signing up more than fifty startup companies, this program will accelerate their understanding of the complex hospitality market.”

As Executive in Residence, Tarro has been instrumental in the launch of this forum, serving as its moderator and content builder for a sequence of diverse topics. Tarro is a longtime member and supporter of HTNG and a recently elected HTNG Executive Advisor.

Tarro brings to HTNG well-known experience as a hospitality technology CEO and management consultant for technology companies. Ron’s technology company provided cloud-based features and integration software for provisioning, personalizing and monetizing enterprise voice and network bandwidth services. The company grew to serve many of the hospitality industry’s major hotel brands spanning more than 30 countries. It was acquired by publicly held BroadSoft in 2014 where he held a corporate VP role. BroadSoft was subsequently bought by Cisco in 2018.

Today, Ron supports early-stage hospitality and travel technology company founders with interim leadership, advice, and investment. Ron is a board director and investment committee member, and he leads investment screening at one of the U.S’s longest standing angel investment syndicates, New World Angels.

“In the early years of our company we struggled to understand our avenues into the hospitality and travel industries, and we struggled even harder to advocate for our unique vision of technology and it’s transformative story,” said Tarro. “HTNG created a critical collaboration between technology companies and senior hotel management that was fundamental for us. Their sponsorship of this new startup forum continues this “Next Generation” mission. Entrepreneurs make this industry better. I’m pleased to work with HTNG to help them succeed.”

The next session of the series will be held on January 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Central. This session is available exclusively to HTNG Startup Members. Registration will open in the coming weeks at: HTNG.org/Startup_Forum.
