Hotel Tech Renovations Workgroup Delivers Best Practices for the Industry

The HTNG Renovations Workgroup has published a document encompassing technology considerations and best practices for hotel renovations.

Commonly, hotel renovations run over budget, take longer than expected and lack a comprehensive technology plan. These issues may result in additional change orders, lost technology capabilities or additional renovations, ultimately costing the hotel.

The Workgroup's Best Practices ensure future hotel renovations will minimize delays due to technology upgrades, guarantee projects are completed within budget and create an overall technology plan for the hotel space.

The group was led by Co-chairs Kenneth Isakson, Senior Director Hotel Systems & Strategy of Wyndham Hotel Group LLC and Neal Medjes, Vice President of Engineering Plus LLC.

"Investing in better technology in meeting and conference areas turns these spaces into revenue centers," said Medjes. "Overall, a hotel renovations project can optimize a hotel's bottom line."
