Grand Bahamas Resort Utilizes SpectraLink WiFi
Pelican Bay at Lucaya upgrades its communication system from standard wired telephones and radios to SpectraLink's Wi-Fi-based NetLink Wireless Telephones, allowing employees to communicate from anywhere on the property while remaining integrated into the existing telephone system and wireless LAN. The telephones' text messaging capabilities also allow for integration with hotel management applications such as CRM, security and HVAC systems.
"Employees basically have a mobile desk extension in their pocket," says Magnus Alnebeck, Pelican Bay Hotel general manager. "They can call directly out of the hotel or take calls from outside. This has really helped us improve our guests' experience at the Pelican Bay Hotel."
Specifically, the handsets operate over Cisco Wi-Fi access points located throughout the property. "The NetLink handsets are great for private and discreet communications," adds Alnebeck. "I can be reached anywhere on the property and no one needs to know exactly where I am at to reach me.
