City Pizza POS Solutions Save Customers', Employees' Time

City Pizza of West Palm Beach, Florida implements two new point-of-sale solutions from SoftTouch, LLC. The installation includes SoftPay, which allows customers to self-pay for their meal at anytime during their dining experience, and Touchless Sign-on, a wireless solution that detects an RFID wristband and automatically logs the wearer into the POS workstation.

The SoftPay kiosk styled touch screen unit is activated by a self-pay card that is dispensed when the customer is seated or, for loyalty customers, a small key fob can be issued.

"Sometimes people are in a hurry and they won't sit down to eat because they're afraid it will take too long," explains City Pizza proprietor, Larry Jacobi. "With self-pay, our customers sit down and enjoy a full meal. If they're in a hurry to get somewhere, they self pay whenever they're ready to leave."

Touchless Sign-on saves City Pizza the headache of replacing frequently used hardware.

"This is great because the servers were always wearing out the swipe card readers with their ID cards," says Jacobi. "It's much faster than trying to swipe the ID card and the servers love it. It saves a lot of time."
