Citi Field Implements Tech to Support Food and Beverage Operations

The New York Mets are pleased to announce that they have deployed the MICROS 9700 Hospitality Management System (HMS) to support its food and beverage operations throughout the entire Citi Field stadium. The solution, which includes MICROS's enterprise hospitality software and almost 400 MICROS point-of-sale terminals, wireless hand-held terminals, tablet PCs, and MICROS's latest Workstation 5 touch screen terminal, went live at the beginning of April for the start of the 2009 Major League Baseball season.

The MICROS 9700 HMS stepped up to the plate to handle a complex implementation involving the New York Mets, its foodservice provider ARAMARK, a culinary partnership with three other locally-based restaurateurs. The MICROS 9700 HMS comprises a complete suite of POS, inventory, suites management, and catering solutions. MICROS 9700 HMS combines innovation, advanced technologies, highly-reliable hardware and robust reporting features making even the most complex operation run smoothly. This single system integrates POS transactions, back office functions, and guest management capabilities, enabling the New York Mets to help manage Citi Field's hospitality operations and cater to their fan's needs.

"We selected MICROS 9700 HMS for its reliable system performance, exceptional service, and support for our inaugural season at Citi Field," says Mike Landeen, vice president, venue services, New York Mets. "MICROS 9700 HMS provides the Mets and our food and retail partners the opportunity to more efficiently serve our guests throughout our new home -- in concessions, premium restaurants and bars, and in-seat service areas."
