BurgerFi is growing. The fast-casual burger concept — founded in 2011 in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Fla., and known for its sustainably designed locations and natural Angus Beef burgers, hand-cut fries, and custard shakes — has expanded to 116 restaurants in 22 states and Puerto Rico and recently acquired Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza & Wings, a popular Florida-based chain. BurgerFi Leverages Innovative Tech
BurgerFi recently debuted Patty the Robot, who interacts with customers, delivers meals to tables, and returns used trays. The brand is testing QR code table ordering and self-service kiosks, and will launch in-car ordering in 5G interactive cars, which will debut in summer 2022, allowing guests to order via voice or interactive dashboard.
A Robust Solution
In its effort to adopt technology that enhances customer and employee experiences, BurgerFi is partnering with Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes), an innovator in multi-transport technologies and networks and the largest non-carrier provider of enterprise connectivity in North America, to upgrade, optimize and manage network infrastructure and digital signage.
Hughes’ partnership with BurgerFi truly reflects the brand’s status as a “new breed" of fast casual restaurant, launching with much of their IT infrastructure delivered as a service, and with growth plans that include broad digital initiatives like ghost kitchens and delivery partnerships as well as deploying integrated digital signage that enhances the in-store experience with vibrant digital menu boards and guest communications. Hughes will build, manage, and support the enterprise network for all 116 BurgerFi locations, including primary and backup connectivity, SD-WAN, LAN switches, network security, guest Wi-Fi, Voice over IP (VoIP), digital signage, and more. Hughes will provide 24/7 support and AI-driven performance management from the HughesON suite of cloud-based managed solutions.
