Yelp, Nowait Partnership Allows Customers to Check Wait Times, Join Waitlist From App
Yelp Inc. announced via a post on its blog that integration of Nowait technology within the Yelp app is now complete. Through its partnership with Nowait, Yelp app users will be able to join the waitlist of their preferred restaurant while en route instead of having to join the waitlist after arriving.
Nowait is currently available in thousands of casual dining restaurants in the United States. To use it, a consumer browses restaurants in his area on Yelp and finds wait times that work with his schedule. The customer can then add his name and party size to the wait list from his phone. He will then be notified by text when his table is ready. The customer can even reply to the text to let the restaurant know he is running late. The waitlist feature is available on iOS today with Android coming soon.
The waitlist feature joins other enhancements made recently to the Yelp app, including booking tables with Yelp Reservations and ordering food for pickup or delivery with Yelp Eat24.
